Notes: |
When I arrived at 4th Street and Chicago Avenue, in Minneapolis, I encountered more hail. It was quite large and not round. It looked like three or four grape-sized hail stones fused together in "L" shapes, or rods. Some of the larger stones were more than an inch in length, but probably only about 3/8" wide. Most of the hail stones were clear, and you could plainly see where the smaller stones were frozen together to form the larger "chain" hailstone.
The hail didn't last very long. By the time my bus reached 4th Street and Portland Ave, the hail stopped. |
