| We're currently about 5.50" below normal for rainfall since January 1st and conditions are worsening every day. Only 0.11" of rain since July 1st, rains keep missing my immediate area. Lawns have completely stopped growing and are becoming very brown. The corn crop is currently at the beginning of its pollination stage and dryness during this time will lead to permanent yield loss, especially if we don't receive beneficial rain over the next 7-14 days. Conditions of our crops could get ugly in a hurry. |

| Thus far for my “Watershed,” that resides in the “Upper Passaic River” Watershed, that covers from 1.5 miles to the NW to about 1.5 miles to the SE and is about 1 mile in width and in the general shape of a diamond;
There were (again) THREE days with measurable precipitation and two days with trace precipitation for a total of 0.93”, the past seven days [Sunday-Sat]. River and stream volume the past week of the CMR increased over small lake dams west of this station. As of Sunday morning, 7/6; one was moving at 100% percent the width of the dam 6.5 miles from this station at a moderate volume and with some observable turbidity. The other, 2 miles to the west, also increased over its fall, now covering 45% of its respective fall and moving at a similar volume with some observable turbidity. The Madison Golf Course, adjacent this station had observable play again this past week on most days. The ground around this station continues to be moist and soft to walk on. Grass and weeds required maintenance the past week. Maple trees are looking well, along with the Juvenal Oak’s and two Ginkgo Trees, also all looking good. Bumble Bees and honey bees were observed the past week. House Finch were active, along with Cardinals, Blue Jays and no Crows. The Hummingbird feeder had observable activity and refreshed the evening of 7/3. Neighborhood squirrels, Rabbits and chipmonks were also all observed. Fire files / Lightning Bugs first flash of the season was observed the evening of 6/19, continue to be observed this week, adjacent this station becoming more visible. Also; Lilly’s that bloomed on 6/17, as of this report; 100% have emerged. No more Pionese flowers. A Red Tailed Fox was observed crossing this station on Sunday 6/29 at 1010 hrs with a dead Rabbit. Also; the Hydrangea has bloomed fully.
Over the past 31 days; this station has captured and reported 3.75 inches of precipitation. There has been 80 days of precipitation the previous 184 days of CY2025 [1/1/2025 to 7/5/2025] for a “Calendar Year” [CY] total of
26.61”, compared to 77 Precipitation Days” and a [CY] total of
31.34” the same [year to date] in CY2024. So far, compared to last year; this station has received 4.73” less precipitation than a year ago. Some other totals from previous years, for comparison, are;
YTD2023- 24.10”
YTD2022- 25.32”
YTD2021- 23.93”
YTD2020- 21.36”
YTD2019- 32.47”
YTD2018- 28.23”
YTD2017- 23.98”
YTD2016- 24.02”
YTD2015- 21.94” FIRST****
The running ELEVEN year average reported precipitation for THIS station is: 25.75” inches, placing this station at a surplus of 0.86” more then the 11 year average. Considering the eleven year annual comparable total for this station, is why I believe that it is appropriate to move this week’s report to the “Near Normal” side of the Condition Scale Bar.

| This has been a great summer so far. We have had a god amount of rain this past week. Our area hasn't suffered the flooding that some have, but everything is looking green and beautiful. The streams are running full and retention ponds are full. |

| We have no flooding, but we have had a lot of rain in the last month. We had another 1.30" since this time yesterday. That adds to 3.93 so far this month which gives us over 26.25" in 2025. This is versus the moderately to severely dry situation we had in April into early June. The landscape is lush and green and growing rapidly along with nearby fields of corn and other crops. Rivers and streams are in some cases over their banks. There has been no flash-flooding in the immediate vicinity, but it's been very close at times and is worrisome. The local canoe outfitter has been able to run lots of trips. Our horses enjoy copious grazing and forage. |

| Better temperatures in the way of being in the 50's and 60's overnight and 70's and low 80's this week, summer is once again enjoyable outdoors. A lot of campers driving by and trailer-ed and not trailer-ed ATV's. Trucks with boats once again this week.
We had one storm that was either straight line winds or possibly an EF-0 come through a couple of days ago just about 3 miles from me to the southwest with lots of old growth timber getting uprooted and investigating the path traveled for miles. It came from the northwest and traveled into the farmlands and deeper woods in Aurora. Lots of trees big and small down. I could see that there were people cutting up what had fallen and cleared the roads of it. Power over there was out too for the afternoon and early evening. One of my friends said the power at their farm was restored at 8pm.
Rolling thunder that lasted for an hour. I counted 194 separate claps. It was strange that it was calm no wind where I am in Aurora along the river and just 3 miles away in the same town, such a violent storm with wicked winds. Trees were down at the Aurora Free Church cemetery and not small ones either nor in the that storm events path on 7/8/25. I have included photos of some of the tree damage and the path me and my granddaughter figured out by driving the roads, documenting the addresses of where the damage path covered. Our coverage path stops where the strips stop and the most damage is exactly in the area between the strips. We spent the afternoon researching and exploring the area and then mapping it. I do have the addresses if needed.
We have had 1.03" of rain in 2 days 7/5 with .23 and 7/8 with .80. Fire risk is low and that is good.
I did notice one of my maple trees already 1/3 changed to red since the last week in June when it started.
Everything is lush and green and another typical summer week for up north.
