A very cool and wet May for 2025. 7.48" of rain, which is almost exactly double our normal for this month. 18 days below normal with 4 days( the 5th,10th, 23rd and 24th) : -7,
-9,-10,and -15 degrees below normal. The 43 on the 24th was close to  an all time record low for Rowan County ( records here from the 1880's; 137 years)the high  of 56 F on the 27th was a record low high temperature for us , Normal on that  day is 81 : that is 25 , unbelievable, degrees below normal; it made all the NC papers, etc,. That was a very cold NC and SE USA day( except for Florida). Big news on weather channel as well. The trees, bushes, yards and flowers have been the prettiest in decades. And farm animals, wildlife and farm crops have all been in excellent shape. Water supply nd quality is great and local lakes , ponds and streams are full.
